In addition to being just blocks away from the area’s best collections of
ANTIQUES and
AMISH FURNITURE, both bed-and-breakfasts are only minutes away from of the major events.
ROCKOME GARDENS is a nationally advertised theme park with a long tourist connection that holds many special events during its season. Be aware that it is
open MONDAYS through Saturdays but closed on SUNDAYS. Starting on May 1 and running through October they host a cheese factory, Amish bakery, old fashion farming days, blacksmith lessons, Amish furniture, interesting gardens, and other events. It also houses the
Illinois Amish Interpretative Center.

- Arcola is the historic birth place of Johnny Gruelle, the creator of the Raggedy Ann stories and the doll. In June, the town celebrates with a gathering of Raggedy-Ann & Andy Friends

- Less than 20 minutes from Sullivan, the Arcola headquarters gives guests an opportunity to attend their famous Little Theatre On the Square that produces well-known, Broadway plays throughout the spring, summer, and fall
- Quilters love the Annual East Central Illinois Shop Hop, A 3-day event featuring 13 shops located around the B&B, 2nd weekend in July
- For those interested in Lincoln Lore, the bed and breakfasts are located just 30 minutes from the Lincoln Log Cabin State Park with its interesting Lincoln Museum and the replica of Lincoln’s Parent’s home. For the historians, the owners can point them to the burial site of Lincoln’s parents and the location of the 1858 Lincoln-Douglas debate in Charleston, Il.
