WELCOME TO EIU FAMILY WEEKEND

Eastern Illinois University holds its annual Family Weekend in the fall. (For more details...). It is a well-attended event that causes families to scramble for housing arrangements. The fun time starts on Friday with a live performance of some well known TV or entertainment personality.

On Saturday the Parents’ Club hosts a breakfast in the Union and people are usually present to answer questions about the club and the weekend. This is followed by a football game which kicks off at about 1:30 PM. All the parents are encouraged to wear the EIU blue and to cheer for the Panthers. Saturday usually features a concert by a well-known band.

The Arcola Flower Patch Bed and Breakfast or at the Arcola Diamond House Bed and Breakfast are located on I-57. Guests who stay here are only 30 minutes away from the Charleston campus. Guests can enjoy the legendary 7-course breakfast, go to campus events, and are also perfectly situated in a safe and secure small town, conveniently located for down-town shopping and 5-minutes-away trip to the Amish country. It’s a great headquarters from which to enjoy your stay.
