Amish Food The Amish women are excellent cooks. While they prepare many of the foods that are common today including Mexican and Italian food and fresh vegetables and fruit from their own farms, they have many foods for which they are known.Their bakery items are outstanding. They make great pies, including those associated with the seasonal fruits, as well as the standards of banana cream and shoo-fly pie. The Amish are also known for their fudge, peanut brittle, and home made noodles which are packaged and sold in some of the stores.
